Continuing Professional Development

Development Funding

We are now accepting applications for funding to support Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities for non-medical staff such as Nurses, Nursing Associates, Midwives & AHPs.

Once a suitable CPD activity has been identified, applicants must first discuss this with their line manager in order to gain their support and agree whether any study leave is to be given. Applications can only be considered with management support.

Applications should be submitted via the button below. Applicants will also need to upload proof of the cost of the course, training or CPD activity, so it is advisable to have this ready before starting the form.

Applications for funding will be reviewed by the CPD Funding Panel, to ensure funds are utilised fairly, ethically & effectively across the trust, in line with the trust values, objectives and priorities.

Applications will be considered the following month. For example, applications submitted in April, will be considered at the May 13th funding panel meeting. Therefore applications must be submitted in a timely manner.

The closing date for applications for this funding window will be the 31st of January 2026 – applications submitted after this date will be considered but may not be able to be supported. You will be informed of the outcome by email.

Courses should not be booked until confirmation of funding is received. If a course is booked and subsequent funding is not agreed, then the CSU will need to identify funds from their own budget or the individual applicant will need to self-fund the course.
