Renal Simulation

15th October 2024

Levels: ST3, ST4, IM3

This one day simulation will focus on developing your skills and knowledge on the management of medical emergencies within the Haemodialysis Department. It covers the management of the dialysis patients undergoing renal replacement therapy and dealing with deterioration of a renal patient

Paediatric Palliative Care

Levels: Multi-professional across Childrens Services

This course focusses on palliative care skills which might be needed in ‘acute’ settings and aims to give a breadth of ‘basic’ palliative care skills covering managing an expected death, arranging urgent transfer from hospital for end-of-life-care, symptom management and use of syringe drivers and much more.

Physician Associate Cannulation Training (PACT)

Levels: Physician Associates

This session is aimed at physician associates who perform peripheral IV access on a regular basis covering various topics such as optimisation of ultrasound images, ultrasound guided peripheral vascular access, ultrasound governance and more.

Core Surgical Training prepares trainees for higher surgical training. The two-year programme follows the ISCP curriculum which includes generic skills applicable to all surgeons and prepares trainees for their choice of specialty.

This training day is the Orthopaedic rotation of training for CT1’s.

Levels: RN & RNA from A&E, AHP where the role involves caring for Neck Breathers patient

This study day is aimed at all multi-professionals who are involved in the care of this group of patients. The session consists of theoretical sessions as well as hands on practical elements.

Critical Care Transfer

Levels: CT1, CT2 & ACCS Trainees

This one-day course provides practical hands-on experience to facilitate the safe transfer of critically unwell patients.  This hands-on simulation course will make use of a paramedic ambulance and the expertise of a paramedic crew.
